What "Labor Warranty" Means

A labor warranty covers the work our technicians perform — the application of paint, the alignment of panels, the welding of structural components, the bodywork shaping and filling. It does not cover the cost of parts (replacement panels, lights, mirrors, hardware), which are subject to manufacturer or supplier warranties. In practice, for most of the work we do — full paint restorations, collision repair, body work — the labor is the primary cost. Our warranty covers that labor completely.

If a paint job we performed begins peeling due to our application process within the warranty period, we repaint it. If a panel we aligned shifts back out of spec, we realign it. This is what warranty coverage means in practice, and we honor it without requiring customers to prove fault.

What Is Not Covered

Our 1-year labor warranty does not cover:
• New damage caused after vehicle delivery (new collisions, new scratches, vandalism)
• Paint damage from improper care after delivery (abrasive washes, harsh chemical exposure)
• Natural fade or environmental UV damage not caused by our paint application
• Parts and materials costs (covered under separate manufacturer warranties)
• Issues on areas of the vehicle we did not repair or repaint

How to File a Warranty Claim

Filing a warranty claim at Fresh Paint is simple. Call us at (346) 577-1465 and describe the concern with your vehicle. Have your original repair documentation available — your invoice and the warranty paperwork you received at delivery. We'll schedule an inspection at our Houston shop, assess the concern, and if it falls within warranty coverage, complete the repair at no additional labor charge.

We don't require customers to jump through hoops for a legitimate warranty claim. If we did the work and it's within 12 months and the issue is our workmanship, we fix it. That's the full process.

Warranty on Insurance Repairs

If your repair was completed through an insurance claim — your own carrier or a third party — your warranty works exactly the same way as a self-pay repair. Insurance completion does not affect, limit, or change our 1-year labor warranty. All labor we performed on the vehicle, regardless of payment source, is covered for 12 months from the delivery date.

Many customers who use insurance don't realize they have warranty rights on the labor even after their insurer has paid. You do. If a repair we completed through your insurance claim develops a workmanship issue within the year, we cover it.

Paint Warranty Specifics — What to Watch For

Paint warranty coverage is activated by workmanship defects: peeling that begins at the painted surface, color delamination from the clear coat, severe orange peel texture that was present on delivery, or visible paint contamination (dirt in the clear) that wasn't disclosed at delivery. These are our responsibility if they appear within 12 months.

Paint issues that are not workmanship defects: swirl marks from washing (these develop post-delivery and are maintenance-related), rock chips at the front of the vehicle (these are road hazard damage, not paint failure), and fading from lack of UV protection (addressed through proper maintenance and a quality sealant, which we recommend at delivery).

Our Warranty Exists Because We Believe in Our Process

We don't offer a 1-year warranty as a marketing tactic — we offer it because we're confident in our materials and process. We use a climate-controlled professional spray booth that eliminates the dust and temperature variation that cause premature paint failures. We use premium 2K urethane paint systems that are formulated to last. We do multi-stage quality checks before any vehicle leaves our facility.

A shop that isn't confident in its process doesn't offer a warranty. We've been serving Houston since 2010 and we back every job we do.
